Bullydog GT Hemi Plus
That's what I'm saying. There's too many options. I wish someone who has one would just chime in and say you know what. Yes it is, or if I could do it again I'd buy x or y. I'm leaning towards banks 66108 and am unable to get a straight answer from ppl as well. Just going to bite the bullet.
Ultimately, a lot of these programmers are doing the same things. You will get an extra 10-20 hp depending on your setup and if you are lucky 1-2 mpgs. Not everyone sees these gains (particularly mpg), so its hard to definitively say one is better than the other. Superchips is nice for the custom trans tuning options which I don't think are available on most other tuners (I could be wrong, I don't know as much about those). Also, most guys buy one tuner, like it fine, then don't buy others. It's hard to compare more than one when you most likely have only ever had one, thus you wont get many "this is the best one, period" statements. My advice would be to find one in the classifieds of this or one of the other well known ram forums and buy it. Whether its bullydog, banks, superchips, diablosport or whatever, chances are you won't be dissappointed, and if you really are, sell it back and try another I guess.

These tuners all have their different pro's and cons, just do research on each one before you decide to buy. Nobody on here is going to (or should) say YES BUY X TUNER because it is the best. Each one is unique, as are our trucks, so those of us with different tuners just try to provide feedback on our experience with them to help aid in your decision.
jnellydodge thank you for all the info you have given with the Bully and nice to hear from someone in NoDak. I drive up here from Utah for work and I've been stuck between Diablo and Bully. Think I might pick up a Bully on this days off. Thank you again for all the info.
jnellydodge thanks for the great thread. Lots of information and real world specs. I really liked that you did it on the identical truck that I just bout. Same everything except for tires. I'm running a 35 toyo mt, and noticed some power loss and was stuck between a couple different tuners and really leaning towards the bully dog. I noticed its been a little while since the last post. Anyone else out there been watching the thread with any more info?
I bough the superchips flashpaq in July. It wold the truck up. You can tell what tune you choose by performance. The mileage xs tune is so so. No real mpg gains. Just lack of power. The 87 tune I averaged 14.8mpg with 70% being highway but against high winds. The 93 tune is a bit aggressive for me. It seems like the truck wants to act like a hot rod with firmer shifts and wants to do 10 or 110. I enjoy the 91 performance tune the best. Superchips claims over 40hp & 40lb tow. Everyone else's tuners were much lower in gains. Bully dog and banks was 26hp, Diablo was around the same. I averaged 16.8mpg which was 2 more than my previous average stock on my daily commute to work. On the highway it slays cars at highway speeds with acceleration. The 87 and mileage tune really detune the engine causing hesitation and poor performance when merging. In tow tune my 5,000lb travel trailer isn't even noticeable. Unless it's windy. Better mileage, shift points, etc. glad I bought it.
Sorry for the misspellings. 5:30am sitting on the pot with autocorrect doesn't help any matters. So to sum this up. Superchips offers the most bang for your buck. The other tuners offer less horsepower and torque but allow the ability to monitor your engines vitals which our trucks already do. So if you want a fancy piece of plastic gps taking up space buy a bully dog or banks. If you want twice the gains buy superchips. Amazon has the best price. Take the few bucks you save and replace that stock muffler!
Thank you for the info. I ordered the Bullydog 40430 and can't wait to get it in. I liked the options for all the caned tunes and the ability to turn on and off certain functions of my truck. Such as fog lights. daytime running lights, seatbelt monitor, and tps sensors. I noticed my truck was getting with the 285/70/17 duratrac tires around 12 mpg in town and around 16-17 mpg running around 55-60 mph. Since changing over to the toyo M/t 35/12.50/17 I noticed my around town went down to 10ish mpg and around 13-14 running 55-60 mph. This was all calculated by the trucks on board which I know is not accurate because my speedo is now off around 5 mph. I would really like to see other peoples results and keep this thread moving along. I will keep updating my findings once installed.
