Diesel turbo on a Hemi?
Bringing the thread back to life, I'm starting to put all of the pieces together to throw a Holset HX35 turbo on my 2004 Dodge Ram Hemi as a remote mount turbo system (same as the STS kit, http://ststurbo.com/dodge_ram_hemi_).
Here is a similar setup as you see in this video on an older 5.9:
I'm only going to run around 5psi, with no intercooler at this point. First, I'll start with an AEM Wideband FailSafe gauge (http://www.aemelectronics.com/wideba...safe-gauge-84/) to monitor my air fuel ratio on my stock hemi. Later it'll serve as my AFR and boost gauge. If it runs lean under boost, I'll throw bigger injectors and a 2bar MAP in it, that gauge will make sure I'm adding the power safely.
I'm not super worried about towing since the turbocharger is mounted aways from the engine keeping temperatures much cooler. Yes, I know it won't be as efficient as a front mount turbo, but it's a truck not a racecar, so I'm not worried about that. With proper sizing, turbo lag is not going to be a huge issue.

It's actually not all that difficult, just putting the pieces all together and some exhaust fab (which I'll gladly hand over to someone else). I'm putting together a parts list for this and planning on having a couple different columns, cheap, midrange, and top shelf so I can look at all of the different options and what they will cost.
I'm not new to forced induction, ran a ProCharger at 14psi intercooled on an older Chevy 350 Tuned Port for years, so I have some experience in this area... first time doing forced induction with a turbocharger though. I sold the old ProCharger because it was far too loud for my daily driver truck, really loud constant whine.
