Default Whats next 4.7 performance

Hi Guys...First,Let me just say Thanks for all your help already..I have been searching and reading for over a month now on here and every other site...I just bought my 02 Ram QC 4.7 4x4 about 2 months ago...My very first Dodge anything...Truck was bone stock..Ive already done the 3" Magnaflow bolt on cat back exhaust,Magnaflow Y pipe,180 Tstat,E-fan,K&N drop in filter TMR delete and superchips 3865 tuner...Now Im stuck on either to do gears or 2800 stall converter...I really wanted the Stock HO cams but I can't find um and I just lost a set on ebay which went for over 500 and they needed to be refunished...I let the other guy have um...Oh well..Oh and I will be getting the bbk 70mm TB very soon...But like I said Im stuck on some 4.56 gears or the 2800 stall...Im running the factor 3.92's right now and I do a lot of highway driving...I use my truck as a truck (towing and 4 wheeling)..I did level it and put some new 17"s and 33"mud claws on it also..Im just trying to get the truck to go when I hit the gas!!!.Im not drag racing and all that..Just would like it to have some nuts!!!Like a truck should..Only reason Im even thinking about the new 2800 stall is because it says I will be able to tow in OverDrive..And also headers..I keep getting mixed reviews on if they even help or not...I would get the JBA shorties if I did get any....Anyway,Any advice on this would be awesome...And if Im messing up or not on any of these Mods. Thanks guys and IM so sorry for bouncing around a little!!Have a great day and thanks for reading

From your description I'd do gears too. It'll make your OD run like your D does now so towing will be much more pleasant. You do however say you do a lot of highway so expect a decent hit to your mileage if running empty.

Would love to supercharge it if they had a simple kit.But I don't think they do.....And If I do 4.56ers will that hurt my OD or the tranny at all?I don't want to burn out the tranny or anything..Im leaning towards gears myself!!!.

anything can happen since we don't know how you treat your vehicle.
Ran 4.10's for 3 years and 30" tires just fine. I then ran 4.88's and 28" tires for 2 years just fine and been running 4.56's for over a year w/ 28" tires and still purring. stock tranny and engine @ 134k.

Use this to figure your rpm in final OD.
.
mph x gear ratio x 336

I would lean towards gears if I was you too, one of the best mods you can do if you can afford it.

Thanks guys...Like I said Im not drag'n it or street racing,Just want more power so I don't have to floor it to pass someone or to get on the highway or even just to get it to move!!!As of now the truck has 140k miles on it and is very healthy I'd say..The tranny shifts like its new and even the tranny guy that did the service said its in great shape. Is their anywhere speacil I should buy the gears from?Id like to buy um in a kit that comes with everything I need!!4.56 seems to be the best gear for me..Im running 33's an might do 35's if I can get this thing running good...Also any input on headers?..Worth it or not?..Thankyou again

Ok guys..Got my gears!!!Now I have to save up 550 to get them put in..I've done gears In my mustang before but that's it..I'd rather just pay to get um done..Can't wait..Hope they make a difference..Anyway I wanted to ask another question.I found a good deal on a 2011 4.7 intake with the TB adapter plate already on it..Will that intake work ok even if I don't have the HO cams yet..By the way Ive been hunting everywhere for them..I can buy rebuilt HO heads with the cams installed but Can't find just the cams.Ive thought about just buying the heads and using the cams and lash adjusters out of them..I don't know yet..But yeah I was just wondering about the intake..Any input on this would be great!!!!Thankyou
