Default Matching Bumper with Powder Coat

Im trying to get my back and front bumpers matched to my paint. Ive got the dodge maroon color and im trying to find the powder coat code for it. The people that said they can do it dont know the code and I guess they dont have a way of figuring it out on their system. Has anyone done this or have any idea how to get the right code for the right color. Thanks

So, you're just wanting to match the body color? I paint cars for a living. They should be able to use your paint code. Maybe I don't understand this well enough. We paint bumpers and bumper covers to match as a regular part of the job. Any particular reason you are wanting to powder coat them? Mainly durability?

From what I have read and heard from different people powder coat is a lot more durable and painting chips away after awhile. Plus all the quotes I have had for paint my bumpers was around 5-600. Have you guys had good luck with it? Im also wanting to paint my gill also the T part and outer grill.

Yeah, being a painter myself I sometime forget about what a shop will charge to do this. There is a thing called flex additive that can be put in the clear coat to give a front bumper extra durability. Powder coating is more durable though. If any of the parts you wanted painted are chromed, this adds a whole extra level of PIA for the painter doing the work, maybe not so much the cost. If you decide to try this on your own, be sure to make sure chromed parts are sanded properly. Chrome is very difficult to sand. But yes, we do paint bumpers all of the time. What I personally think looks rather trick is to paint them the body color with a matte clear coat on top of it.

No kidding, a local guy. I'm in broken Arrow, I work at Gerber collision on Elm Pl. about 1/4 of a mile south of 71st St, west side of the street. I seem to work all of the dang time, so stop by and see me. There are two buildings for the shop, stop in the second one at the overhead door next to the dumpster. Ask for Dave (me). I do try to get out of there by 3:30 to 4:00. I get there early, 2to3 AM, so if you want to stop by early, that's fine. We can swap phone numbers then.
