What kind of idiot takes a 4x4 on a racetrack!?!
THIS guy!
Drove the Nürburgring yesterday. I wish I could tell you all about it, but I had to concentrate so hard on not running anyone over or wrecking myself trying to keep to the right that I didn't really have the opportunity to just absorb it all. Definitely an awesome time, though. My brakes hated me by about the 10 kilometer mark (it's a 20+ kilometer course), and I hit the striped berms so many times I thought I was going to break a wheel off before I finished. All in all a great time. I would not take my truck out there again, but I plan on taking the Jeep when my buddy and I go back to lap with his SRT Challenger.

thats pretty cool..... it is a long course, lol. lots of different camber changes, banked turns, absolute test course, nice pics.!!...k-town, i been there for a few weeks with my reserve unit for our annual training.... what branch you in?
I'm medically retired from the Air Force. My wife is still AD. Getting ready to leave in July for Hickam. I'm actually shipping the truck this week, so I had to get this Ring run in before it left.
I thought I was going to **** off a lot of people on the course, but my buddy said we were actually getting some thumbs-up from a few motorcycles that passed us as we were exiting. A few claps from spectators by the restaurant there, too. Pretty cool time, overall, and I can't wait to go back.

I wish there was less traffic out there so I could have taken better lines through the corners, but I just hugged the inside edges the whole way, to be honest. The berms/rumble strips were the worst. I probably could have kept a little better speed and tighter corners, but every time I'd get a tire up on one, it would kick me back out onto the driving surface. I was afraid of taking out a motorcyclist. At least now I know what to expect if I go back in the Jeep. I'm shipping the truck on Friday, so I had to get this thing on the track before we left!
That's so awesome lol. I must admit i'm very jealous. I wish I could have the chance to drive on the 'Ring. Although I don't think I would ship my Ram out there, I would consider shipping my MR2 if I had the money. Even visiting the Green Hell is a dream of mine.

What did the Ram top out at?
