I wanted to know if it's possible to swap the 4.7 with a 5.2 out of a 2000 Dodge ram van. If it is possible what all needs to be replaced to make it work. I know the 5.2 has less power and there are better engine options. The truck I'm thinking about getting has a blown motor, and I can get the 5.2 for free so if it's possible I'd rather just use it. Any help/advice is appreciated thank you.

 

Not worth it. The electronics won't match, the trans won't match, the wiring harness won't match, along with a whole host of other problems. If the truck is cheap, just buy another 4.7 to drop into it. It will actually end up being cheaper than trying to get the 5.2 to work.

 

No. It would actually be easier to make a 5.7 run in that truck than a 5.2; easier being a relative term. EasiER, not EASY.

 

I'm just gonna try to revive the current engine and flip it. Thank you for the advice 👍
