Hey all, I rolled my 2nd gen about a month ago, and I'm looking at moving up a few years. Is there anything I need to watch out for when looking for a 3rd gen Ram? I've always wanted a hemi

I avoid the mds... Rear axle on the 1500, the limited slip has clips in it that crack and then grind the heck out of the housing and ruin it. All the 1500s in my local jyard are missing the rear axle, most likely for that reason. I don't even think about buying 1/2 tons anymore, I go for 3/4 ton trucks.

03 Hemi's had valve spring issues. The MDS is fine. The 09-up (4th gen) have lifter issues. My 3.92 LSD has been flawless for 105K as has basically everything else. I drive it kinda hard and have towed 6500+ lbs many times it no issues.

Fixed it for you, 160K+ on the original valvesprings, including flogging, hauling and towing.
