I was curious if anyone had any input on some towing questions. I plan on towing a fifth wheel RV, gross weight around 11,500. Ill be towing with my 03 quad cab short bed 4x4, cummins 5.9L turbo high output manual transmission, as of right now everything is stock. I was wondering if any had any suggestions as far as upgrades or anything that would be better for the truck/towing experience. On my to do list is get an exhaust brake installed, air bag suspension kit and electric trailer brake. Any input on other add-ons that might be helpful or good brands for any of those would be great too, appreciate the input.

 

If you don't have a rear anti-sway bar, installing one sure wouldn't hurt. Aside from that, I think you have it covered.

 

4 or 5" turbo back exhaust, cold air intake, boost and EGT gauges and a good programmer like a Smarty POD.

 

I'll look into those. Any good brands you would recommend?

 

Exaust is just pipe, go with whatever brand is cheapest, usually Diamond Eye. S&B and AFE both make good cold air intakes, for gauges Auto Meter or Isspro, tuning go with a Smarty so6 POD.
