Default Dodge ram 1500 46re

So i have a dodge ram and recently i have changed out my torque converter as it went out to a 2200 stall one and the truck shifts fine but as it comes to a stop it won’t lift off in 1st mostly if i hit the throttle to wide open and let off it’ll jolt into 1st gear drive off and shift normally, usually i can also shift into neutral and back and it’ll grab first or when i tell it too, it has no trans codes and the fluids are at operating level

Mistake it’s actually a 2300-2600 stall, but i found that when i drive and i floor it more from a stop it’ll down shift to a low take off gear but im not sure why the trans just doesn’t shift down when it’s at a stop like usual could it be because of the high stall ?

The PCM doesn't know anything about your converter stall speed, it *Should* start in first, regardless. Getting any trans codes??

No trans codes, but if i floor it a little more than usual like where u feel resistance from the tv cable it’ll downshift and pull off in a lower gear but before the stall i would slightly feather it and it would move out in first gear

Computer is probably seeing lower engine load due to the higher stall, so, it shifts sooner. Might be able to adjust the tv cable a couple notches tighter to compensate? Maybe??

but that wouldn’t make sense as it’s at a stop, it would have to shift down to 1st to take off smoothly regardless right?, i’ve adjusted the tv cable but it doesn’t really fix anything and no trans codes

Will your scanner read live data? If so, see what governor pressure is doing at a stop, and how quickly it rises.
