Hi guys... This afternoon, I broke the little plastic pin that holds the clear plastic lens on my overhead console. I have the short console without the sunglasses holder. Looking for a replacement on eBay, I noticed the one with the sunglasses holder. My obvious question is can I install the console with the sunglasses holder even if my truck did not come with it? If so, is it hard to do? BTW, I have a 2005 QC. Thanks all.

 

I know it will not be a hard install but will I have to cut my headliner to make it fit?

Yep. Looks like ya need to cut the headliner back... though I would wonder if the two rearmost mounts are actually going to be there on your truck. My guess would be 'no'....

 

After seeing that last video, I think you are right... I don't think the rearmost mounts are going to be there... bummer...

I don't think you have to cut it up. You may be able to remove yours and look back into it if you can se the mounting brackets.

 

I did this mod. To install the longer console you will have to trim your headliner. There is only one bracket for all options. If you are looking for one, I am parting out my truck, I have one with the sunglasses holder and the updated EVIC:
