Hemi engine Failure
Update on this issue. Went to the dealer and talked to the owner. No known Facts regarding this issue. The number 1 piston had to have had a hairline crack in it. The piston disinigrated and scortched and hammered the head and cylinder wall.
Chrysler engineers want to see the block and have informed the dealer that this is an isolated incident. Owner of the dealership said he tried to put a long block in the truck(drop in and run motor), Chrysler said no.
End result, new short block, new no ! head and a new intake.
I have pics, but they are on wifes cell phone, working to download them for the site.

yes, the short block comes from the factory with all the caps crank, rods, pistions and all that intalled, thet are replacing the bank one head and the intake. so only one new head will be installed i get to keep the head from the other side of the motor.
Well just to let you know this is not an unknown issue. I had the same issue myself. Take a look at my gallery and look at what was left of my piston. But it ended up putting holes in my block. The dealership ended up replaceing my motor thank god. Again this is a known issue cause when I started looking into it there were similar instances around. By the way my motor had only 50,000 miles on it. Be glad though cause you are getting a new motor.
