2006 Ram SLT Hemi Exhaust

RE: 2006 Ram SLT Hemi Exhaust
After talking to my muffler guy and explaining that I wanted the least amount of in-cab sound his advice was the 50 series.
Flowmaster 50 discription (from flowmaster)
This is the latest design of the 50 series muffler that utilizes Flowmasters patented "Delta Flow" technology along with an "H-Chamber" to eliminate most all interior resonance and still have that famous Flowmaster sound outside the vehicle.
As for the MDS sound, I really don't know yet. I think I can live with it though.
I will make some sound/video clips after the install. Both inside and outside.
Things I should have installedby this weekend:
* Flowmaster 50 series muffler
* K&N drop in air filter
* Superchips 3815 tuner (ordered it March 30th)

Well,
It is done the Flowmaster 50 series 53057 isinstalled; However the mechanic laughed at me because I had him leave the rear resonator on. He said it will be very quite that way, and he was right. He said I could come back and have it removed if I wanted to. LoL
All windows up and nothing on inside the cab (ie radio or AC)no real noticable differance than stock at crusing speeds of 40 to 45 and 60 to 75. Couldn't really tell (hearing wise) when MDS kicked in either. I mean I had to really listen for it.
Putting you foot in it mildly you can hear it though, not to loud but not stock either.
Putting your foot in it alot and it sounds pretty darn sweet. (kinda quite for me, but the wife is the main driver of the truck)
Bottom line:
- Slight mellow sound, I love it!
- $159 out the door
- And most importantly NO Check Engine Light or MDS issues (I have about 35 miles on it so far)
We are taking the truck from FL to TN and back this wekend.
On a side note the stock 55 gallon drum of a muffler was already showing signs of rust.

Did you just have them put in the Flowmaster single inlet single out 50 series and leave all the stock pipes? I want a 50 series on mine, how do you think it sounds as oppose to doing dual tailpipes out? I like the idea of just sticking in the flowmaster muffler and leaving mostly stock pipes so I'm not hacking up my new truck too much. Did you notice any performance gains?
Do general exhaust shops do this sort of thing or do I need to find a performance shop? Anyone buy just the muffler and do this on your own, leaving stock tailpipes? My truck is a 06 2500 SLT Bighorn so no MDS here.
Thanks for the help.
My trucks an 06 2500 SLT Bighorn, so no MDS to worry about here.

I had the muffler only installed flowmaster 53057 and it was a normal old muffler shop.
But I warn you it is NOT loud with both resonators still in the system.
Performance gains?
Well I installed a K&N drop in air filter, a Superchips 3815 (Set to performance 91 octane) and the muffler all today.
So yes sir I did notice a big gain. I think it would chirp some gears WOT.

My friend and I put his truck up on our lift in the garage, and just installed a straight pipe from the Car to the axleback stock exhaust.... It sounds nice and deep and not alot of cabin noise, but when you get on it, "YOU WILL HEAR IT"!!!

Thanks Pirata.
I did make some video "with audio"clips of the after muffler was installed.
But I am telling the truth when I say I turned on the AC crusing at 75 MPH and could hear the fan whispering away. There was no exhaust drone.
If I open up the rear slider window you can hear the faint throat-e-ness of the exhaust.
This is a videoof medium acceleration. Kinda Throaty
All windows were up and no AC or Radio. The clicking noise was the camera strap hitting the camera.

Here isvideo crusing at 55, I tried to put the camera as far back as I could.
Please forgive my Southern Draw. All I could hear was common road noise.
