Default how about that cam?

Anyone hear any good stories, or bad, about the 3 different cams that comp cams offers for the HEMI? Also, do you know of any other kind of cam to swap in for some more power without having to change all the computers?

If I were to go with a cam I would go with a 6.1 liter cam. I know that some of the comp cams require further tuning but the 6.1 does not. It doesn't add as much HP but there is no head ache involved and the 6.1 cam gives 25-35 rwhp so thats enough for me with no hassle.

If you went with the 6.1 cam you would have to change your lifters as well as disable the MDS on the 06 and newer 5.7's, any new cams must state that they are compatable with MDS 5.7's. I just installed a HHP/BES stage 1 260 cam in my truck that was specificly designed for the 5.7 MDS and the power gain is unbelievable. Here's their link http://estore.websitepros.com/802805/Detail.bok?no=1139

I was about to post the same thing. This cam looks much better then the 6.1L cam. More power gains and you can keep your MDS if you have it. I like the idea of the added power but also being able to cruse on the highway and still get good mileage.

All in all it's not to bad, the worst part is taking off all the accessories. The one nice thing is the lifters push up into their retainers so there is no need to remove them or the intake manifold.
