I've got an 03 Ram Hemi... Yesterday, driving about 65, my check guage buzzer went off, and i saw my temp in the red... then it slowely creeped back down... since then, it's been swinging from below too above the middle mark... I'm not sure if it's a temp switch or the thermostat going bad... What yall think?

 

ever change your coolant? how long ago and what milage you at now?

 

95k.... I havent changed the coolant yet.... I went to AutoZone to get a thermostat.... didnt carry it... then i asked for the temp switch... didnt carry it.... but they sell candy bars and cokes, lol....

 

Somebody gotta know something?!

 

sounds like a classic t-stat to me

 

OK, I'll go to dodge and get a thermostat

Change the coolant and the t-stat at the same time. If that does not fix it, then come back and let us know. We are starting you off the easy/cheeper way right now.

 

definitely sounds like thermostat.

also check the anti freeze, low antifreeze could also cause the issue and could be caused by t-stat, leaking water pump, leaking radiator, leaking anything........
