Default New Dodge owner, with some questions (also new to the forum)

Hi guys, new to the forum. Just got my new 07 1500 hemi on Friday. Gave up my 06 gt mustang for it for more of a “family friendly” vehicle. So got some questions as I am starting to get scared reading some of these posts. Did I get into a good truck? Is the trans going to tear apart while the drive shaft is shearing into pieces? The use behind it will mainly be regular driving, some hauling with stuff in the bed, and maybe some times towing a double axel trailer. It has the hemi so of course I would want to have some fun every now and then but overall it is still just the family truck. Am I going to be okay??? Or are some concerns as I had with mustang friends and other posters that were one of posts of getting a bad one from the factory?

Love the truck and best truck I have had the pleasure of owning. Wife loves it as it feels like a luxury truck to her, smooth ride, quiet and you feel like the king of the road.

First off Welcome to DF [sm=welcomesign.gif]second drive it in to the ground and worry about it when something happens. Enjoy it I know I do and we are driving down south with mine instead of the wifes Durango. I pull my sleds and have the quad in the back with no problems. Granted it's not a double axle trailer but thats what the tow haul feature is for.. Again enjoy the Ram and post some pic so we can see it!!

Post pics of it?? Kinda conceited isn’t?? Well okay let me get my camera!
Well I know it is not my stang… yet..(also hanging onto my xcal2 as sct has said they are releasing a new firmware that would enable it for the dodges. I just could not see dodge putting something on the road that they know they would be throwing parts into. I also was not sure what all the differences are between the 05 and 07 were other than MDS which I am still on the fence with. Also I have the cheap sirrus radio and not sure if am having issues as areas that my old xm would never cut out at this one goes dead for a few seconds. (course that is also kinda apples to oranges) A friend of mine has an 05 that has about 45k-ish mileage on it and he drives it like he stole it. Only thing that I think he has had a issue within the past was getting approved for the loan to replace the tires.

Hey also is the ram's pcm and picky as the mustangs spanish oak pcm was? If you put a cai on the mustang with a biggermaf body it would not adjust the af correctly (ran to lean if I remember right), you had to get a tune if you did not want your cel to stare at you while you were driving. I would love to get a cai and exhust as in stock form it sounds like this beast would love to breath in and exhale more if it could.

yeah, great pick of a vehicle in general! i have an 07 too! i got all the nooks and crannies! what would bring out the color of your truck would be some chrome nerf bars and tint. i know of a dude with an 06 with that color. beautiful truck!

NICE RED!! Shouldn't have any problems with the CAI, I have not gotten one yetcuz I don't know what kind to get.Had a K&N on my 96 but like I said not sure yet. Exhaust, I have heard a lot of people say they like it on the Hemi, and others say they changed back to stock because of the MDS makes it sound wierd. So far the best seams to be a Flowmaster 50 series with stock pipes and the rear resonator removed. I'm still on the fence for this one.

not I. did you see the thread going on here with the 07 HEMI? he has a sick sounding truck even when the MDS kicks in. he says you really have to listen closely for it with his setup. thats the setup im gonna get. the flowmaster 50 series with the stock pipes and rear res removed! lol. yeah.

For the exhaust I was tossing around the idea of one of these http://shop.quicktimeperformance.com...t_list&c=4

Also, for the nerf bars I had thought of powder coated black to match the black trim towards the bottom of the doors. Thoughs?
