ok, gas went up $.02 here in San Diego. I think San Diego has the most expensive gas in the nation. you guys are all bitchin and whining about gas prices. lol. im 19 and gotta pay between $3.39-3.59/gal.! lol. and i drive a ton! lol. school is a half hour drive man! 4 days a week im driving an hour to and from school. then i spend another 20 mins. (rountrip) to the gym and back. ugh!!! lol.
You drive a truck that your dad bought you, right?
yeah, but im jsut saying how expensive it is. i understand that i have lss obligations (payment wise) than most of you, but i pay for my own gas and its killin me! you understand?

i agree with Mystro. another reason we got the truck was because of saftey. it is much safer than any little car out on the road and most other SUV/PickUps too. my mom is getting my sister a truck or an SUV too when she gets her license for the safteyness of it.

In all honesty, I wouldn't complain about the high price of gas if the oil companies didn't gloat about their $100 billion dollar PROFIT!!!! That's right after paying everyone's paychecks (CEO in the 2-3 million range plus perks), all their operating expenses, etc, they still had $100 BILLION dollars profit. Give me a freakin break..........the companies would still make a profit if it was only 1.50 a gallon.

"The following information was compiled regarding the oil company profits for calendar year 2006 and the impact of these profits on consumers. Staff analysis of oil company financial statements indicate that the five major oil companies earned profits of $113.33 billion in 2006."

on myspace and yahoo email ive recievedthis message asking everyone to not pump gas on may 15th, im not going to hell its just one day its not like i have to pump gas everyday.

In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all myspace members are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the myspace network, and the average car takes about 30 to 40 dollars to fill up.

If all myspace members did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,200,000,000.00 (that's BILLION) out of the oil companys pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldnt) repost this

These gas prices are out of control, someone (You & I) need to stop the oil companys from robbing us so don't buy gas on May 15th!!!

No offense guys. I hate gas prices just as much as the next guy and specially cause you know who else makes profit out of this on top of the big 5 oil companies. But just like it was mentioned before, you bought a truck, T-R-U-C-K, with a 26 or 34 gallon tank. Yes, you were lied to by the window sticker, in my case, with a V6 HWY 21MPG. That was the car companies with the EPA to make you think you get more than reality. But again, its a truck, trucks were meant for work, to haul and tow stuff for work purposes. In other words, you get paid to haul and tow and then that pays for your truck. Then you depreciate it and you are happy cause you get some money back. If you get the truck for joy, just for owning a nice truck to get you to school, the gym, the office, tow your boat or motorcycle, then just be proud and swallow it. If it bothers you that much, trade it in for a Civic or Hybrid. But please dont complaint about it. A business is a business and their purpose is to make money. The gas station has to make money, the truck driver that delivers the gas, the barge that brings the oil, the refineries, the employees, the electricity, the pumps. These costs add up. You dont even count inflation in the equation. ****e, I dont hear anyone complaining that milk is 3.50 to 4 dollars a gallon and my kid needs that more than I need the gas.
Let me give you another example, you are kid that goes to school making minimum wage, I think $6.50 an hour. Your boss comes to you and tells you, "you know what, we are gonna pay you minimum wage from 1986, $4.25 an hour". Are you going to be happy? Will you say "ok boss, no problem"? I damn pretty sure you are not.

I regards to ELTUPAC statement, I personally make far more than minimum wage, I understand that the oil companies have a business or should we call it more of a monopoly as the majority of us on this portion of the forum do not have a diesel therefore do not have the ability to make our own fuel. Oil companies have made so much money in the past year and daily that they can give the consumer a break, if they do not want to do that why don't they convert some of there profits into gee, I don't know perhaps educational programs for the children and adults alike. To sit here and say lets not bitch about prices of gas, if a person and organizations do not stand up for what they believe in then there would be no america today, Religious freedom was a huge reason that people left europe and came here a few hundred years back. If there is to be no freedom to organize why do we have the constitution? The reason people pay so much for gas is because we allow it. I will participate on the 15th of May, Hopefully it makes a difference if not I will know that I tried. If my boss told me I was going to go back tot he wages I earned years ago I would expect the ecomonmy to also go back to the prices that were around years ago were. Oil companies hurt us a lot more than at the pump, every tangible item has to be delivered thus using gasoline from our bills, to groceries to money from bank to bank. that causes that cost's to go up.

Look Jimmy, I dont disagree with you. They have made a pretty amount of money. I am sure that they are investing in things like PBS, Discovery Channel and other fundings. I am also sure that those are nice tax breaks as well. I read these posts about gas prices and how people complain about it. Dont you think enough people have complaint that our government would have done something about it already? The government questioned 4 oil companies about how they raised prices during the hurricanes and held back gas to create that gauge. The gas companies said, "no we didnt", what did the government do? they said "fine we believe you". It ended and they are doing it again. So what is the government doing about this? they are the ones that should be fighting this. I know I tried to stop it, I voted for the other guy. At least I tried too. Money = Power, you said it, they made billions, thats a lot of power.

Eltupac, you are right the Government the Country voted for should back the country but the almighty dollar wins as usual. I would love to see a price break on gas, will it happen, I doubt it, but if there is something I can try that will make a difference I am all for it. I have already limited my wheelin (off road) to once every two weeks as oppose to once weekly. Even have the flashpaq on economy.

Guys... either way you look at it, we are getting the shaft. Eltupac, I agree withyou minimal wage statement but Jimmy you are absolutly right that there is a monopoly. I find it absolutly abserd that the financial gurus that force companies to have a competator to prevent monopoly's (phone companies, amongst other buisnesses,in the past were forced to actually create their own competator) allow the oil companies to play the games they do. Yeah, there isn't a "true" monopoly because there is a bunch of providers but the industry itself is a monopoly. When there is an increase in cost, it isn't one company, it is all of them all at once. Competators should be keeping the price in check, not forcing them to get higher. And I agree with the both of you... it's our governments responsibility to fix this... but we have the wrong guy leading the march (oil tycoon). And Eltupac... my window sticker didn't lie at all to me... it said nothing. It was dead on.

I saw on the news last night that a gas station in Orlando had $4+ gas and didn't have the price posted on the sign. Can you imaging the anger of the folks who didn't check the price before pumping!! The average price in Orlando, excluding this theif, is around $2.70.
