Default Calling all optimists!! I need your help!!

(all you pessimistic people need not reply)

Ok guys, like many of you I have a 3.7L dodge ram (2005). I know, I know, "shoulda got this, shoulda got that" ive heard it all. but it was all i could afford and it was the first car i ever bought from a dealer. (pretty much a rip off, but thats another story. lol)

Many have said it is pointlessto try and build it up and make it a "real" truck. But you know what, I have it for another 5 to 6 years, or longer so you know what......

I'm gonna attempt the seemingly impossible, im gonna try and make this little puppy growl!!!

But I cant do it alone!!! Even though I've absorbed alot of info about the in and outs of cars and engines i dont know everything. So I need the help of this message board to point me in the right direction as to what I can get. Any websites or whatever would be helpful.

As of now, all I have is an Intake, (which is a huge difference from when it was stock.) so what is in the realm of possibility, that i could do this bad boy??

whew... um.. exhaust, intake, headers, powerwire, throttle spacers, jet chip and many other mods. go to the 3rd gen. ram topic instead of the 3rd gen v6. not many come onto the v6 one. so repost this thread n the general 3rd gen. thread.

What intake did you get? I think I'm going to get the Airraid one and the chip once I have the money.

Unless you got something higher than 3.55 gears, I say get gears. I have 3.21 and everyone tells me to get 3.92 at least.

My friend talked me into because with the price you cant go wrong. Well we installed it (without much difficulty) and the difference is night and day!!! Not only have i felt the increase in power, but the sound of the engine is really brought to life, which i liked.

I've considered the gear change, but i've heard they are quite pricey, and i have no idea where to find them! Do you know how much they go for and where i could find some?

Well, someone down here offered me 3.92's installed for $300 and 90 days warranty. It was a used gear. I would really like to get LSD 3.92, but thats like 2-300 bucks. I guess ebay wouldnt hurt.

i put a cold air kit on mine, but i built it myself with 3" pvc piping. it works wonderful and i can tell the difference. it cost me about $50, but you can do it for cheaper...the reason mine was so much is because i got a T and have 2 filters on it.

Wow its sad that you had to make a statement to bypass all that trash talk because you bought a v6. (i dont know if its a 4x2 but that doesnt matter either). Its a real truck. One of the best pickup engines of all times was a 4cyl in a japan built pickup.

I'm gonna vent about this because this one dork says to a car wash attendant today (while im at the carwash) "Careful with this, its got the hemi". And shakes his head like hes cool. So I went up to him after I finsihed drying my dakota and said "Wow, you got a HEMI?" "Yeah" "Hey I was wondering, whats a HEMI?" and the response is: "Its an advanced intake system that maximizes tq."

Woooow. hmmmm, someones got a small p*nis. for sure. I'm sure that truck has never been off pavement too...lol.

A trucks a truck, there made to work. I'd put money that I could take a 4x2 with a manual rear locker and out wheel that guy in his 4x4 hemi lol.

Put it this way, Id take your V6 over THAT guys hemi.
