Default 2007 Big Horn Edition question

Ok i recently bought a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn Edition and my question is this.

My Truck has a Tow/OD button on the gear lever which would lead me to beleive i have the tow package. But the day after i bought the truck i realized there was no hitch. I can see where the rear bumper is reenforced and it says it can handle a load ( I dont remeber the exact number) When I test drove the truck it had 3 miles on it so..............

Am i suppose to have a hitch? Is this something that maybe was left off the vehicle and i can take it back to have one installed? Basicaly does anyone else have a Big Horn with no hitch?

I have tried to do research on this but the internet is very vague about the big horn edition. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TY

The Big Horn Edition won't differ from most rams in this matter. Your basically "hitch ready" But you likely did not get the tow package on your window sticker, which gives the reciever and the electrical hookup. If you want that, the dealership just needs to weld the reciver to that bar you see behind your bumper, but it will cost you.

If you do not see tow package on your window sticker, you do not have it. Very easy and cheap enough to have a reciever installedon your truck. Red

You will still have the4-pinwiringharness tucked under the left side of your bumper. The 7-pin comes with the tow package. The tow/haul will eliminate 5th gear and change the shift patterns. The OD Off setting elminates both 4th and 5th OD gears.

Weird.

Add the ThunderRoad to that list. The Big Horn/Lone Star/ThunderRoad/Hemi Sportare basically the same package with different names for different parts of the country. My '05 ThunderRoad QC has the hitch and 7-pin plug. Also, look at the sticker inside your glove box door to see if you have the 3.92 rear end. That's part of the towing package.

Good luck with your truck!

I have the 3.92 gears on my Thunder Road but didn't get the receiver hitch either.
Got one from DodgeParts.com for under $100 and installed it myself. Took about an hour and I used Locktite Red on the mounting bolts.
