20" wheels? better check your PSI!!!
HI folks...
Just a quick heads up. It would seem that there is an issue with the 20" wheels from dodge holding air. I'm not sure if it is climate related or not.. but I read a post about it... went out and checked mine.. and got freaked out.. they were all very low... I mean REALLY LOW! only 12- 20 psi. So i did my own test and here are the results:
Making sure the tires were cold, I filled all four of them to 35 psi. I let the truck sit overnight and went out the next day and checked them. 2 wheels were down 4psi... one was down 8 psi.. and the last was down 12 psi.
The dumbest part about this is.. I can't tell the tires are low when I drive it. I don't know if it is because they are 20" or what. Maybe I just got used to it.
Anyway... check it out..
see if you have the same issue.
I'll take the truck to the dealer and see if they can find any punctures, leaky valves, or rim deformations. I just thought I would mention it.
drive safe!

hemiwolf. You should check the tire pressure every couple of weeks worst case, best at least once a week. Tire pressures are sensitive to temperature changes. I've found that for a 10 degree change in ambient temperature, say from 60-70, the pressure can vary as much as 3 PSI.
Granted I only have about 1600 miles on my 04 QC Lonestar 4.7 with 20s, but I checked my tires and all are still 33 - 35 psi an that is in Texas where temps have been 91 - 94.

Got the truck back...
3 of the 4 valve stems were leaking....
AND
2 tires had very small punctures.
(Aren't I lucky!)
As much as I drive I guess it had to happen.
btw...
I do check my tire preasure every now and then.
they have always needed some amount of air....
Its been awhile I admit... it just got progressively worse i guess.
The truck probably had leaky valve stems from the
get go... anyway.. be safe..
fyi my truck has the 275x55x20 Good year EAGLE LS
Tires. in case "bad valve stems" might be a tire specific thing.
