That's freakin great... what is the best option for the wax removal... 3m? Should I clay and all that swag too? Best polish to use? Does it need multiple coats.

And is it the polish or the liquid glass that diminishes the swirl marks?

FFMedic,
I think Youmentioned you had the Meguiars Deep Crystal Polish didn't you? (It's like step 2 of the Meguiars process)

The 3M Adhesive & Wax Remover is usuallyin the Paint and Body section at the auto parts store.

See if any of your friends, coworkers, neighborshavesome Liquid glass you might be able to borrow. Maybe the auto parts store has an open can for demo.

Then do a small to medium size section like a fender, door,or bed panel.

If they are really bad swirls try the orbital buffer(after the wax is removed)with the Deep Crystal Polish. It is the polish that gets the swirls.

Yes it would be a weekend project.

Well... a little update. I tried the whole process: started with the 3M wax remover, used the clay and lube, used the orbital on 2 coats of Meguires Scratch X, 2 coats of Meguires Paint Cleaner, 2 coats of Meguires Polish, and hand applied the Liquid Glass in two coats.Eachsection of the truck took approximatly 2-3 hours, excluding thebonding time between coats of the Liquid Glass. I have no idea if I did something wrong, or if therandom dual action orbital wasn't working right, or if the paint is just too far gone. I looks like crap still. Iam beyondfrusterated, and probably will need toseek help of a pro to do the job for me. What am I lookingat in terms of cost for having someone do it professionally for me? Thanks for the info.

There is a place here in my town that does it and says that you don't have to wax it ever again. I believe that it costs about 250-300 to start and every year that you bring it back it costs a little bit less. I had a buddy that used them and his truck always looked nice when they where done. It is called Durashield.
