Default Modified Exhaust

This may seem nuts.... But in all essence it may not... But i was thinking... because right now... I can't afford a complete exhaust kit... I was thinkin of removing the actual muffler and replacing with a straight pipe... But leaving the rest of the system intact... Anyone think this is a good idea? or think it'll suck? I do have a 07 Hemi with the MDS.. and I saw other posts saying that the MDS sucks with a modified exhaust.. Just lookin for opinions...

I think it might be a little too loud.I just remover my rear resonator and added a weld in Magnaflow and its pretty loud. With the MDS it does sound a little crappy, but Ill deal.If it was any louder I think I would just go back to stock.

I saw on here somewhere some one cut out the muffler and just ran a pipe. sounded nice, so they said.

Hi NJMand CEM,

What you have is:
A front Resonator
Apiece of straight pipe (3 inch)
A HUGE stock muffler
A tail pipe with a second resonator behind the rear wheel

I went to a local muffler shop, the guy cut the stock muffler out about an inch or two on each side.
Added a flowmaster muffler (Part number is in my signature)
Added a piece of 3" straight pipe to make up the difference left by the HUGE stock muffler.

Look up my post and you can see pics, sound clips and price.

I don't really recommend no muffler at all.

I have the Flowmaster 30 series....I never knew they made it until I went to the shop, it's a racing muffler, It's a single chamber muffler and it is only about 6-8 inches long, I also had the pipes upgraded to 3 inch all the way back but stuck with a single outlet. The Truck sounds awsome and turns heads.....it has adronearound 2 grand but I have grown used to it.....if you want to sound like a monster coming down the road this is what you want.

30 and 20 and 10 series are illegal.
