It is functional. If you only install the hood it will vent air into the engine compartment. But you can buy a few different products that will port air right into the intake or to port air into the air box.

I just have to have it painted now
And I think Ill make mine function like it should RAM AIR! Although in the winter well have to block it off for better milage

I see there are some Fiber Glass ones but man there a lot of $$!
Id rather have the factory style steel hood should bolt right on and no hassles other than paint
