Default Squeals like a pig...

Is it normal to get the truck to squeal or whine when puttin it into gear?... only does this when the idle is elevated..

Is it possibly a pulley making that sound? That's the only strange noise I've noticed on my truck besides the vacuum cleaner sound near redline (need to get a cutout and cai). There is a tsb out now I believe about slippage going into reverse. A computer flash is the fix at the dealer if I remember correctly.

I don't belive it's a pully... this only happens when i get into the truck... start it... and immedialtly put it in gear... and it does'nt care whether it's drive or reverse...

it takes time to get line pressure up in the tranny. plus if the trucks cold it wont shift into over drive unitl tranny temp is 160 or so. id let it high idle a sec then a quick lil tap to help with the line pressure. personally i NEVER jump in an throw it into gear right after start up. i wait 20-30 seconds at least.

I know the truck won't shift into "overdrive"... It was the initial shift into gear that squeals....

i kno mine does if its really cold out and its no where near warmed up. kinda like a clunk. never when its warm though but again i try to let it get some heat going through it first. id try givin it a lil longer to warm up. i have noticed on mine that its only when idleing really high (like mentioned with cold cold starts) right after start up and even then it does it if i sit for a minute or too. again only when its flipping cold out but not everytime
