Installing New Speakers - Can't Get Them To Fit- Help Please
I'm in the process of replacing the door speakers.
My fronts are going to be Infinity Kappa 693.5i's. They are 6x9's but the damn things won't fit.. What do I need to do in order to get them to fit..
As of now it's just a hole not big enough problem. I can't say for the depth because I can't get them in..
Here are some pictures:

Held as far as it will go in with factory spacer:

Last night I took the door off and broke the gray plastic clips off the factory spacer so it would slide flush over the speaker..
I had a piece of 1/4" plywood so I cut a piece of it to mount over as a spacer.. So from bottom up it went: Plywood - Factory Spacer - Speaker.. Still wasn't enough spacer for them to mount..
Then I took some 3/4" scrap pieces I had laying around and put those on the bottom of the plywood.. It was then an 1" of wood plus the factory spacer.. The SOB still didn't fit..
I stopped at that point.. I'm wondering how much I can actually built these out before the door panel would hit them when going back on!

I used the cover for my infinity 6x9's . took the screen off and turned them with the logo against the door.
the cover between the spkr and the door.the door panel was a little tight, but no problem.
hope it works.

those are prety close to the speakers i put in. First of all ditch that factory mount, then get out the red and green snips and make er fit.
no i dont have any pictures, but yes i was saying just trim around that circle i just followed the oval about 3/8" around the outside
Can you link me to a picture of the tool you used to cut it? I have a jigsaw and sawsall but if there is a more controlled way to do it I would rather.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

if your not familiar with sheet metal snips the red handled snips will curve to the left as you cut and the green handled snips will curve to the right when you cut. This makes it much easier to cut out a round space
