06 Ram 1500 4x4 Hemi/MDS Exhaust qustion
I have the stock exhaust on my truck and I was wanting to install a Super 40 Flowmaster muffler. Could anyone please help me with the proper muffler to install. I'm thinking I would purchase 3" inlet and 3" outlet center-center. Does the center-center work or doI have to get one side offset and the other center. I would like to keep the factory tailpipe and exhaust pipe, is this a good idea or should I remove them (2 resonators). I have to stick with the single rear side exit exhaust because I have the ground effects kit on my truck and it has the cutaway for the exhaust. Has anyone installed the new super 44? is it louder then the super 40 on the hemi install ? Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated
Is it ok to leave the resonators on and just install the muffler? I'm sure someone has installed a muffler using the factory side rear exit and perhaps the factory exhaustpiping
Similar to that question, under my truck I see3 object coming off the engine on the path of the exhaust.
Closest to the engine about 10 inches long?
Middle about 30 inches long?
Right before the end 10 inches long?
I believe the first one is the catalic (however you spell it)converter, second is the resonatorand last is the muffler. Is this correct?
Edit: Wow, my typing really sucked on that post.

Jody, yes you can just replace the resonator with a muffler. This will work alot better than leaving it stock. If money is a problem then you can do this. It will make you truck a little louder too. If you have the money I would reccomend getting the full set up from the cats back. This will help out better. You can purchase the kit with the side exits if you like that look.
Pirata: Sorry I can't help you out as my stock exhaust was only on for a week once I got the truck. I do remember my back resonator was huge. Looked like a10 gal. trash can. Most cats have a kinda smashed look to them instead of perectly round or tubular. They also will have grooves in them. Sorry I could not help you out any better.

The middle one on my truck does look like a 10 gallon trash can. So then the question is if I put a flowmaster super 40 on my truck, would if go in the middle (way way smaller than the middle) or the last one (about dead on ***** exact same size)?

You should have 5 items under yer truck
Two Cats (Very small right under each exhaust manifold)
A Front Resonator
A 55 Gallon Drum for a Stock Muffler

A Rear Resonator
So you will be replacing the Huge Garbage can with a small light less restrictive muffler.

Ok then disregard your previous PM I sent you. You already answered my question. The stock muffler is 30"x12"x9 Thanks. Flowmaster Super 40 here I come.
Edit, stupid stupid keyboard!

Just wondering which super 40 to buy 3" inch inlet and outlet should be ok I suppose any suggestions on that and the second is should the inlet be center-center or offset on one end reason why i'm asking is because the muffler shop may not need to bend a pipe to fit, perhaps a certain offset on one side and center on the other may make fitting in the new flowmaster alot easier. Any ideas or does someone know which is the best configuration. Please help and also has anyone tried the super 44 on a hemi yet? Please help
This may be a stupid question but I wanted to jump in on this one. Does the resonators have to stay on or can I just run duel from the cats back on both sides and just use the cats and the mufflers. Would this void the 7/70 warrenty??
