Daytime Running Lights (DRL): How do I add it?
After driving many GM cars over the past few years I have come used to the DRL safety option that Dodge does not have installed on their USA Ram's. Is there a way that DRL can be activated on my truck? How do they get it to work with Canadianbound Ram's? I'm a strong believer that DRL's save lives and prevent many car wrecks.
Good deal; when I picked up the new truck last Monday, there were a couple of scratches on the tailgate. I'll have them activate the DRL's when they do work on the body. Thanks!

Yeah they can do a lot of stuff with the starscan tool. The power offdelay feature can also be enabled. For the cummins you can do the high idle feature but that doesnt pertain to you.
Yeah looks like if you put in "l x f o r u m s" (no spaces in between) where the stars are, it will come up. Must give the admin some bad vibes when anyone links over to that forum.
Thanks. What else can they do with the Starscan tool. I see the accessory delay and the daylights, but what else. I am putting in my fog lights (hopefully will be here tomorrow) and I guess I have to have the option turned on by the starscan tool. So, while it is plugged in, I might as well see what else they can turn on, or off for that matter.

Always wondered why the US doesn't make this mandatory. Until I read this thread I never knew it could be done. So when I picked up my wife's van today I asked the dealer how much it would cost. $700 per vehicle! They claim that the module that controls the DRL isn't necessarily already in the vehicles and that I would have to purchase the module to get it to work. Does this sound kosher?
Daytime running lights are a $40 extra when ordering a new truck, so I think $700 as mentioned above is very extreme for this feature. I always thought you needed a "new" headlight switch, but if it can be down with software, I think I may get it done. These lights just make sense as a safety issue. Red
