Default Mega Cab Long Bed

Is there any talk in making the Mega Cab available with a long bed? I think they could do it fairly easily. If I remember correctly the current quad cab with a long bed is longer then the standerad Mega Cab. So what's the deal? I saw on ebay this last weekend someone was selling a long bed conversion and had a picture of aMega Cabthat they had done. It looked sick!!! Granted it was lifted with all the bells and whistles but why not make a long bed? any thougts?

i was told by my dealer that the mega cab uses the same frame as the quad cab long bed so then they just extend the cab. So if thats the truth i really dont see the point in making a whole new frame

This is true, the Mega Cab uses the QC 2500 frame for the Hemi, then marks it with a 1500 model. Doesn't get the 2500 model unless you order the Cummins. Since there is not a high demand for the Mega Cab, they did not make an original frame for it. Hence this is why noone down here in Florida can sell theres. I personally love mine. I love the extra room in the back.

What!? No more MegaCab? Glad I got mine then. It was one of the big reasons I bought a Dodge. You can't beat the room. I almost can't hear the kids.

Getting rid of the MegaCab? I can't hardly see that! Especially with Toyota just releasing theirs! Dodge ain't going to let Toyota take the market in super cabs!

As it's already been said, they used the QC 2500 LB frame, took off the LB, made a bigger Cab, and installed a SB.

I really don't see any reason they'd design a special Frame just to make a LB MegaCab, since LB's really arn't that big of a seller compaired to SB's and The MegaCab's only have a small market right now (Although its growing), It's just not cost effective for DCX.

Also It'd just be way too long. You couln't park the darn thing! It's hard enough to find parking for the beast as it is with a SB!

I just bought my 2007 Mega Cab, and I for one can't see any valid reason for them to do away with it... If they are, after 2 years, which I kinda doubt, I am glad I got mine... They have a lot of industry firsts in that truck and it won me WAY over from Ford and Chevy in the full size crew cab market.... Now it just needs a topper and it's ready for a LONG haul with my family...
