Default 2007 Ram 1500 Cruise Control

Wanted to see if anyone else was having this problem before I go after the stealership.

When in cruise control, the rpms will surge about from 2000 to 2200 or 2300 and back down - usually happens on slight inclines. Other vehicles I've owned don't do this - they'll raise the rpms till you reach speed - and hold it, but it doesn't get jerky like this.

Cruise is set at about 73-74 mph.

Thanks - btw, the 07Hemi got 19.6 mpg last time I did the calculation.

Does it do it at other speeds too?
60, 80 or just that range 73-74?

Oh and welcome to the forums

Have only used cruise at those speeds - anything less, I use the gas pedal. Will give it a try.

Thanks for the welcome. Always wanted a Ram - finally traded by 04 Dakota Quad Cab in December.

Yes, my '07 does it too. It does it at slower speeds as well. Doesn't matter if I'm going uphill, downhill, or flat. It will jerk you back as it jumps 300 rpms or so and falls back. I just went on a 150 mile trip. I set the cruise at 70. It probably surged at least 150 times on that trip. Most of the time while downhill or on the flats. I will have to take it in.
