mds is only a cpu function. i guess i cant speak first hand but its nothing new to have the dealer turn it off. they also can turn a bunch of other little things off too..

 

Ummm, why would you wanna turn it off? With cost of fuel and all.......unless the truck is gonna be strickly a drag vehicle.
Fill me in, I'd like to know.

MDS = Multi Displacement System or Magnified Drone Sound (If you put a loud exhaust on it)

Your computer shuts down 4 cylinders under light to no load allowing yer engine to run as a four banger.

The computer controls it, but their are more mechanical componets involved.

 

The reason I want to turn it off is I'm running a flow master exhaust, CAI, Super chips, 6 inch lift along with 35" tires on Motive 4.56 gears. So when the MDS kicks in especially at lower speeds its much more noticeable and the exhaust sounds bad. If I was worried about gas mileage I would drive a Honda. I want all 8 cylinders all the time.

Yea I would like to disable my MDS aswell, Its not gonna make my mpg any worse than they are now.

 

awww ok well i got a 2oo7 QC lonestar edtion i think mine has the MDS but i just took the muffler and tail pipe off to get the sraight pipe sound for right know i cant hear any changes int the exaust when im driving down the road hmmmm or my hearings bad

 

If you dont hear it then that can only mean one thing, you dont have the hemi

 

Im going to have a cam put in to eliminate the whole thing

A cam is on my mod list but Ikinda want to keepthe MDS.
