Default 2007 Hemi Transmission, Grinding..

When I first got my truck, it had 8 miles on it. When you put it in reverse it would stall a little and make a grinding noise. I thought no big deal. Now, with 2300 miles on it, it's still doing it. Just louder now. and when you go from reverse to neutral, it feels like the transmission jumps. Is this normal? I'm thinking I'm taking it back to the dealer tomorrow. Luckily, I have to go to dentist so I'm off of work. Maybe I will be in pain and really pissed, maybe they will get something done. Does anyone else have this problem? (BTW, It's a 2007 Regular Cab HEMI [mds] with the 5 speed overdrive transmission.)

Mine was ( still is ) making this big clanking noise when it goes in gear. I went to the dealer and had them check it out, they happened to have the almost exact truck on the lot to compare and it was doing the exact same thing, My truck had less than 800 miles on it when I had it checked. Dont know what to tell ya unless its a totally different issue, , they was actually suggesting a transmission tear down, but luckily the other truck was there to compare to...

Yeah mine is doing it too. I have an 07 Hemi 1500 Quad cab. Many times when I put it into reverse it makes a grinding sound for about 1-2 seconds, I also get the jump or clunk occasionally. It has almost 7000 miles now. Did you ever take it in? What did they say? I am taking mine in shortly to have it checked.

Anyone else having these issues?

This is not normal. Even if they don't want to do anything about it now, be surecustomer complaintgets written up in the repair order AS YOU DESCRIBE IT... use words like "broken, damaged, & unacceptible" Don't let them candy coat it and make it sound like a customer noiseissue only. If they find "nothing wrong"after you take it in, at least you have proof you had a complaint and it is documented in case of later warranty issues.
There may be TSB's or Silent recalls on this in the future. Ask the Service Writerif there areTSB's on this issue now.

Good luck. And don't do anything that will void your warranty until you have this resolved.

I have a 07 Quad Cab Ram with the HEMI and the auto tranny. I also notice a grinding noise when I put it in reverse. It doesn't happen all the time, only occasionally. I thought it wasn't a big deal either, but seeing this thread I guess it is a big deal lol. I guess I should take it into the dealership? I've got a little over a thousand miles on it. Is it normal or is it something that really needs to be checked?

Other than Sharpshooter (whose is not grinding)

Yeah I have to agree grinding is not normal. Take it back in.

My 06 (knock on wood) does not grind when put into any gear.

Has anyone had this checked on yet? Just curious, I'll be taking mine in as soon as I get a day off of work methinks.
