stats for 0-60 after performance mods?
Hi all,
I have been reading through the forum trying to figure out the best cold air intake system for my 04 5.7l hemi. Most of the posts with an opinion on this seem subjective, saying that you feel more power or your tires spin more easily. Others say there is no change. The better sound is appealing but by itself wouldn't make me spend the money.
To help make my decision, I would love to hear some objective statistics. Has anybody tracked 0-60 times before and after their mods? What are the times and what are the mods?
I timed mine once. I got somewhere close to "onethousandseven" and was at about 62. I'm hoping you're more precise than I am, maybe with a stop watch and somebody else watching the speedometer while you drive?
I have seen other posts where people say they've gained X miles per gallon -that's pretty helpful, so thanks to everyone who's done that!
Thanks,
Mike

if you wanna see a difference in performance mods go to the track and let them time you. I took my jeep stock except with a borla catback and ran her. few weeks later when i did a CAI, new cat, and a new PCM. I took her back to the track. That is where i saw the major changes. I could feel her pull higher with the mods but having the time slips to prove it makes it worth the money. hell taking a jeep that was a 17.0 to a 15.8 with a couple bolt on mods tell you they are worth it. Where i run it is $20-25 to run your vehicle. Some times we get 30 runs in a night. I usually go for about 10 runs a night.
When you try and do it with a buddy on the street the times are no too acurate and G-techs are off and on when giving you the data.

I will install the exhaust and intake first, then will try to get track numbers,
after that will install the gears and rear LSD, and after one or two weeks of gears break in (no WOT) I will program the car with superchips tuner.
and will do some track passes,
Regarding the installation, I am sure I am gonna install the intake by myself :-D

I am planning on testing a supercharger kit for my 04 Hemi. I will record before and after dyno results and hopefully some track times as well. There are not many available sites to run 1/4 times, but I will make every attempt to run the vehicle after the upgrades. Estimate of RWP is over 500 hp, I have 392's with stock 17's.
