You can usually buy Mobil One by the case at good prices at Sam's. I've used Amsoil for years and I do use the one year oil change. I change the oil filter at 6 months, and top off. I've had my truck for over a year and I don't even have 5000 miles on it, so it ends up sitting for days without being started. Even though I can get free oil changes for as long as I own the truck, most wear occurs at start up. Dino oil drains off into the pan and after a while you have what is called a dry start. Synthetic clings and will not drain back to the pan within 24 hours. Synthetic also enables your engine to run cooler, it won't break down like dino, and some people claim better mileage. To me it is just about better protection for the engine. I personally don't think there is a better oil than Amsoil, but I'm not going to tell you to use it. It claims extended oil change intervals and backs it up with it's own warranty. People find Mobil One easier to find and purchase, and although they tell you follow the manufacturer's recommendations, BMW puts Mobil One in the Mini S. My daughter bought one and BMW gives her free oil changes - but those oil changes are 10,000 miles or one year, whichever one occurs first. Amsoil has a direct comparison to Mobil One on their website. If you are interested, read it and draw your own conclusions. I believe the other synthetic that claims extended is Red Line.

I have free oil changes for life with both my 300M and my Dodge Ram. Different local dealers but it was part of the original incentive to buy from them. Many dealers offer them now. Since you've already purchased, the only thing I could think of you doing is to talk to your dealer and see if he will give them to you.

Yeah, mine came with 20 free oil changes too.

I want to run synthetic in it, wonder if they would just let me pay the price difference.....

My truck came with free oil changes every 3K miles, but I noticed the first time I took the truck to the dealer (Frahm Dodge) they didn't change the oil, but had me wait 1 hour for my truck...F the dealers free oil changes...I also use Amsoil and only change my oil once a year.....
