i gotta say that thing will sag like no other if you dont have a weight distrbution hitch. even with it the rear suspension is nearly bottomed out. Since you going down the road your fine but i the future you might want to look at upgrading your suspension some.

I've crossed the max towing limit before, but it's definitely not safe.

anybody wondering what his gears are? Hope its not 3.55 by the time he hits top gear he'll be at the next camp site.
even 3.73 would be pushing it, only hope its a 3.92 (do 4.10s come as factory option on a 1500?)

As far as the sagging goes don't have any gear in your bed, make a second trip. My dodge came factory with a IV hitch, think the tongue weight limit is a grand. Your leafs can handle a lot, I've had 60 40 pound bags of dirt in my bed ( only had to drive 6 or 7 miles) and it handled fine.

I find it amazing that people could be dumb enough or just missing common sense that we need to explain not to hook this to his bumper. are you kidding me.

Quick hitch question....which class is this OEM receiver? It almost looks like it just bolts up to the integrated bumper hitch that comes on all the rams. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-08...mZ350023078836

4.10's come on a 1500 w/ hemi. he'll be fine he ain't going very far and i've exceeded the towing limit before you just gotta be careful. i've pulled a 18 foot trailer with 50hp tractor, mower, box blade and loaderwith another 12t trailer behind it with a load of scrap metal on it for 150 miles and mines still running fine w/ 150k on it. so unless u got a lemon u have nothing to worry about unless u hit a huge pot hole then you'll screw up ur front and or rear end.
