Towing Limit
Hi,
We have a 7700 lb. Travel Trailer. Should I be able to tow this with my 2002 Ram 1500 w/ a 4.7? We are only moving it a couple campsites so its not like we are going down the road but I wanted to ask before I tried and like blow my tranny or something. Well thanks in advance for the help.

DeeJayy,
I'm sure everyone is assuming you have a tow hitch.
I wouldn't hook 7700 lbs toyour bumper with a ball on it.
Or
Maybe I missed something and you have a receiver hitch?

That wieght is borderline.. I wouldn't be very comfortable. What class are you?

For one that size make sure you take off the overdrive and take it easy on the hills. As long as you take it easy it should be no problem. That trailer is near the top of the tow rating.

Towing a 7700 lb TT with a class 3 hitch probably isn't a good idea. Even with a weight carrying class 4 hitch, you are 200 lbs overweight. Maybe a weight-distributing hitch will help?
