Infinity speaker upgrade ???
I've used Infinity Kappa Speakers in my cars and Love them! You can buy the Kappa's online for what the lower end Referance model's cost at the local Retail store.
My question is... If you install an Infinity Kappa Speaker as a direct replacement for the stock speakers in the doors, Shouldn't you have no problems running them on the factory amp? Any aftermarket speaker should be far more efficient than the stock speakers, and thus would not only sound better, but shouldn't have a problem running on the factory amp.
I assume the factory Infinity system is just speakers in the doors and seperate tweeters in the dash? (My truck has the factory Infinity system, I just haven't done much research about them), Instead of a 2-way or 3-way speaker in the door? So basically a component system?

The only issue with the new kappa series, reference included, is they are 2 ohm vs the standard 4 ohm. This is to draw more power out of your amp. If you intend on running them off the original deck, this may pose a problem that the deck isnt designed to push these impedences. Otherwise here are some infinity's that will fit.
Kappa 693.7i 6x9 3-way speakers for the front doors
the only kappas rated for the back doors are the components (per crutchfield) kappa 60.7cs
It lists a dash location: kappa 32.7cf
hope that helps.

You need to upgrade the speaker wire if you have a 4 channel amp. Go as big as possible. Take a look at my thread, labled Quad Cab Speaker System. They gave me a bunch of tips and stuff on what to do in my sons quad cab.
