Default Transmission/Clutch

Hello new to the site. Well I just got an '07 V6 Ram Regular Cab6sp.2 weeks ago and just noticed today that when I push in the clutch it seems like something is rubbing it or something along those lines. Don't really know what it is but it don't feel right if you know what I mean. Has anyone had this problem or could it be that it is so new that it is breaking in? Don't know what to do hopefully you guys can help me.

If you ain't first, you must have a V6.

Mine squeaks in stop and go traffic. After too much time on the road shifting. Best way to know is to test drive another V6 6 speed. If you take it to the stealer and tell them that it doesnt feel right, they'll keep it for 2 days and tell you its normal. They go by the rule "If it aint throwing codes, its working fine". So test drive another one and find out if the same "rubbing feeling is there". Good Luck.

Mine does the same thing and I have a little over 400 miles now and it hasn't changed. Must be normal.

Not sure about the rubbing, but comparing my 06 to my 03 5 speed, the 06 6 speed clutch doesn't engage as smooth with some bump and chatter, though it has smoothed out a bit now that I have 7500 miles on it. The trans wurrs a bit in 3rd and 4th, too. Definately lighter duty (cheaper) than the old 5 speed.
The squeek sounds familiar from my 03 when I had been shifting a bunch; never did it but try lube'n the pivot points down by the pedals with lithium grease and the rubs and squeeks should go away.

I must agree The 6 speed in my truck could shift better is kinda nocthy getting in to first when stopped it has popped out of gear on me more than a couple times you think it is in gear but it not let the clucth out pops out of gear and you fell like aA?S when it grinds(YA) I know how to drive a stick you telling you'r self.

It's not so bad now I gotten use to the feel of the shifting but still could be alot better it's the trany like pizza442 they are making them cheaper now.

Also shiftfrom 4to 5 is sometimes has a bad feel to it.

I going to change transoil to a high end oil see if that helps.

Yep, that's happened to me too. It jumps off gear, but me it was first gear. I also have that 4th to 5th problem. I just go to 6th then back to 5th.

DANG. Thought I messed up getting the auto trans. Guss ALL of the Dodge transmissions stink!! By the way, anyone "snuck in" over at the ford truck forum to see what ther trucks are like? I work in a ag related busness, so just about everyone I see & talk to is driving a truck. I have noticed the majarity of them sre fords. We have 2 here at work. A 1996 with the 4.6 v-8 at 189,XXX, and a 2001 with the 5.4L v-8. Both are stove bolt tough and never give any trouble. And they also get thecrap run out of them! The are NOT pampred at all. These are real work trucks, drove through pastures & fields by our mechanics, loaded down with tools, torches, generators & portable welders! Both trucks are extended cab, shortbed, 2wd F-150's.
REALLLLY wish I would have bought a Ford right about now!
