I switched to Mobil-1 synthetic at 1000 miles I have just changed it again at 4900. My Audi S4 comes from the factory with Mobil 1 synthetic (11.75 quarts!).

I switch my 98 Jeep Cherokee over to Mobil 1 extended protection last month with a mobil 1 filter. I just purchased same stuff for the truck and will be doing the switch tommorrow. I had free oil changes at the dealer up to this point. Truck has 29,000 miles. Next month I will be changing the transmission fluid and will be putiing Mobil 1 as well.

for you to get over 20 mpg, you'd have to be driving down mount Washington. You may
be seeing that on your display, but there's no way. I have the same truck, and the most I've ever gotten
was about 14.5. Occasionally on a long downhill in the mountain range, the display will read up to 30mpg, but
that's not real.

p.s. I use nothing but full syntec

You guys seem to think that getting over 20mpg on a flat, open road is impossible.... But I'll tell you, it's not. Not if you set the cruise control at a decent speed(I've found 70 seems best), stay off the gasand thebrake, leave the a/c off, have appropriate tire pressures, and DON'T have 35" tires and a lift, and new gears, etc etc etc. A stock 4.7 is capable of decent freeway miles. I got more than 500 miles on my last tank of gas, and when I filled up I put in 23.7 gallons, and I don't top off or round off the $ amount.

I don't mean to doubt you, but you should call the Guiness Book, because you've got the only
Ram v8 in existance that can do it. I've babied my truck(which is ALL stock) to try to get
the very most milage out of it, and still...... no-where near 20mpg.

Royal Purple....just over 3k, so did the first oil changed at about 2800 miles. I will do the same in the charger on break in (RP), but at about 1500 miles instead.

I run a Wix oil filter.

I plan to run full synthetic in the tranny and rear diff once changed (around 10-15k I guess).
