Seafoam today, no smoke
So at lunch I drive 5 miles or so to Advance Auto, get a can of Seafoam, pour half into a small container, unhook the brake booster vacuum line, and, with the engine running, let it suck the seafoam up. Stalled once, but eventually got it all in. Shut the truck off for 5 minutes or so, started it up, and not one hint of smoke. My 04 has 49700 miles on it. Do I just have a super clean engine, or what? I've seen the other posts and videos, and people get gobs of smoke. My truck is bone stock, and over its life I have used about 75% 87 octane, the rest 89. I've driven back to work, and will see if I notice a difference on the way home. Oh yeah, I poured the other half of the bottle in my gas tank, then put in 23 gallons of 89 octane.

I am not sure wha to say except that every time I have used SeaFoam in different cars they have blown major smoke! However with that said I have only done it on older cars, so with 40 something miles I am not sure.

Seafoam, especially when it's sucked in through the brake booster's vac hose, is an excellent engine cleaner. It'll clean crud off the pistons and other internal parts better than anything except taking the engine apart and doing it manually. And as others have said, it'll make a smoke cloud big enough to attract a crowd.
I haven't thought of doing it on my truck (52k miles). I may do it just before changing the plugs.

seafoam is the same thing as using water. if you trickle water slowly through thebrake booster line it will have the exact same effect. just don't dump the whole bottle of water in there trickle it in there. the water creates a vibration in the cylinders and knocks off all the crud. I don't hink you should have much junk on it at 50k miles.
I just used carb cleaner in the tube like stated above I couldnt find seafoam
but I had nothing come out of my tailpipe even with 80000 +miles on my truck
is the carb cleaner not as strong as seafoam ?

I added it to my wifes Miata last winter. I had no smoke or anything either. It definately ran smoother and idled better afterwards. When I run it through my outboard, then I get some smoke. Same thing with my lawn tractor and weed whacker, they smoke a little too.

you have to get the engine to die or have someone cut it fast after it sucks 1/3 of the can down. then let it sit for 15 minutes or so. i did mine and some puffs but nothing major at 75,000. my dads jeep smoked like a drug house after three treatments of seafoam.
