Default Chassis Cab rumors/facts?

Well I've pretty much decided that I am going to get rid of my 2006 MegaCab 1500 in exchange for a 6.7L CTD Chassis Cab model.

I had read some rumors, backwhen the Chassis Cab was first introduced, that there would probably be a 4500/5500 model released later on. Can any one confirm or deny this?

I'm okay with a 3500, it much beefier than what I have now, but if I'm going to "step up to the pump" for a bigger truck, I would probably entertain the 4500 or 5500 version, if it really is going to be a reality.

TIA

4500 Class and up is supposed to be released for the 2009 models coming out sometime in the late summer next year. That is a lot of truck, Dodge is doing it to compete with Ford.

I would assume that a 3500 series can do anything anyone would need outside of work.

Good luck

Well I really only usethe truckfor hauling, as we have 2 Jeep Wranglers (his & hers) for daily drivers, and the Dodge has been relegated to trailer (27 ft. 5th wheel camper, 17 ft. gooseneck flatbed for the Jeeps, 21 ft. boat & 6x12 enclosed motorcycle trailer) towing duty only.

I'm sure I don't "need" anything over a 3500, but I can't say that I wouldn't "want" a bigger one. [sm=smiley2.gif]

Yes these trucks are going to be avaible very soon for 2008. There is a 4500 and a 5500. The 6.7 ctd is the only engine ava. One thing that you may want to look into before buying one of these beasts is that not all dealerships will sell or service these trucks. This is due to the fact there is alot of heavy duty equipment and maybe a bigger shop. Not all dealers want to spend the money.

Fortunately here in south Florida, there are is a huge selection of Dodge dealerships to choose from, but that would certainly be a consideration in a more rural environment.
