Any idea what causes my clicking and popping noise when I turn. It appears to be coming from my drivers side wheel.

Any insight would be appreciative.

Check your steering joints/knucles and your CV joint(if it's a 4x4).... or anything that moves...

 

Thanks for the reply. What am I looking for, when I check the joints? I breifly went under to look, I will look more closely tonight.

 

torn boots... anything that looks broken....

 

Check the boots well, it's not uncommon for one to tear, and then all sorts nasty stuff gets all in there...and then you have 'spensive fixes.

 

my 05 does that when i turn left not all the way but most of the way and then pull in my drive. Is this like the same thing your experiencing shaffkc?

 

If it pops and grinds as you're rolling it's probably a c/v shaft, could also be a wheelbearing.One way to see if it is a wheel bearing and not a c/v shaft is, while driving down the road, kinda weave back and fourth in your lane. If the noise gets loud in one direction and goes away in the other, there's a good possibility that it's actually a wheel bearing. If it does it when you turn your wheel while stopped, I'd start looking at ball joints and tie-rods.

 

mine just makes a single pop noise when i turn left into my driveway as my front left tire hits the bump to the beginning of the driveway

 

That sounds alot like a ball-joint or tie-rod to me.

 

what year is your truck? 06 had a recall on the wheel bearings... mine went bad before the recall came out.. it started with a clicking noise.. to a slight screech here and there.. then it was a REALLY LOUD screeching noise while driving slow

if it's a 06 that might be it. take it to your dealer.
