Default Tstat

alright guys, im seein a ton of yall have 180 Tstats, i've seen them but never really considered getting one, how much do they really help? what would be the advantage of getting one?

i think they help more then you would think...i've gotten about another 1.5-20 MPG improvement and also feels like i've gained some horsepower and i have the Jet 180 t-stat....and a cool running engine is always happier then a hot engine

i gained about the same as hemi yellow and have noticed a slight improvement in throttle response also. I have a stant 180* thermostat

I gained about 1.5 mpg after installing an e-fan and Jet 180* t-stat. Acceleration from a dead stop is very apparent. Did both mods within a day apart, so I don't know how much to attribute to each. I'm pretty confident in saying that most of thegainsare aresult ofthe e-fan, but I still like seeing my temp needle at 10:00 as opposed to 11:45!!!
I think that even if you do not see a performance or mpg benefit, I cannot help but believe that an engine running at a cooler temp. would tend to have a prolonged life compared to one running at a higher temp.
