I use Mobile 1 and use the same procedure on all of my vehicles. Oil and filter change every 5,000 miles. Been doing this for about 20 years now. It works for me!

 

changing filter every 4k and the oil at 8k. running royal purple 10/30, wix filter, lucas syn treatment. 03 qc hemi, 49k with NO probs.

 

I totally agree with pirata. I use mobil 1 synthetic and change every 3k in all vehicles. it is cheap insurance. you're not hurting anything getting dirty oil out and putting fresh in.

 

I change mine, Dodge and Jeep (Wrangler), every six months. The Dodge will have between 5,000 to 6,000 miles and the Jeep between 600 to 1,000 miles in that time.

 

I change mine every 5K - 6K miles.....Haven't had any problems.......

 

I run Mobil 1 with Fram filter and I change every 4500-5500 miles. I have almost 80K on the truck now and I have had zero problems with the engine.

 

again i say...."if your changing at 3000 mile intervals it doesnt matter if you use synthetic or conventional." dodge says you can change at 5000 intervals on conventional oil. I use synthetic simply because i like to put my foot into it and i know that im not breaking down my oil near as fast as if it was conventional. If your unlike me and drive like you have some sense a good oil with additives such as castrol gtx will do you fine.

 

I purchase my oil from walmart because they are the cheapest ive found.....anybody else happen to notice that the price on the mobil1 full synthetic has droped signifigantly. it's now the same price as the castrol full synthetic.

 

Yup, I paid right around $20 for a 5-quart big bottle, at that price, can't go wrong. Picked up 2 bottles. Would like to pickup a few more, but I only gotta do oil changes every 3-4 months, so don't want the stuff sitting around tooo long.
