Marv02 you keep talking of the V-6 being underpowered. I have the V-6 in a STD cab 6 speed and do not have any problem with it. I tow and haul and still get good power and good gas mileage. I had a buddy who had the quad cab like yours and I do agree that for the quad it is underpowered, but certainly moves a standard cab very well.

The Q-Cab needs more motor thats for sure, The V-6 is a good motor but not enough for the Q-Cab.
Like I said before never again will I buy a Full size truck with the small motor ever again.
I will sufffer with the MPG at least It will have the power to get out it's own way when asked to do so.

Hey I'm a Dakota guy...but all that seperates a club cab 3.7 Dak and a RC 3.7 Ram is about 250 lbs...
I've done the math, and as far as highway driving goes, swapping in 3.92's in for 3.21's would be pretty much the same as running the 3.21's on the highway in 5th instead of 6th.
3.21's in5th are a 3.21 overall, 3.92's in 6th are 3.1 overall.Granted there would be more grunt in all the lower gears, but for 55-65 MPH operation or even towing, smart use of the 6 speed should be just as good as putting lower gears in the rear end. If I need to get up and go, I just wind out that stump-pulling 1st gear and I'm set...
So, I've pretty much decided against the 3.92 gear investment, but I'm also not trying to turn 22's![Big Grin](https://dodgeforum.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
As for my mileage, I ran 21 MPG this winter from Columbia, SC to Syracuse, NY, even through the mountians of Virginia, with about 600 lbs of sandbags and other crap in the truck. The key was keeping it under 70 MPH.
Just my $0.02...and Iabsolutely donotenvy trying to lug a QC ram around with the 3.7...I wouldn't even touch 6th with that setup. At least the 3.7 is the most realiable Dodge gasser.
