2wd stance vs. 4wd
Hey guys I am new to the forum. Im sure what Im asking has been discussed so I apologize if I gave up too easy on searching.
I want a quad cab 1500 and I love the way the 4wd with the 20" rims look but my question is this...
Is there a kit that will give the 2wd a 4wd stance?
Does the 2wd get better mpg and cheaper insurance? If not Ill just find a 4wd, but if I can make a 2wd look like a 4wd so as to pay less for the truck, gas, and insurance then I certainly won't miss the 4wd. If I want to go offroad Ill take the wrangler anyway.
Also, what is the trim level called on the rams with the 20" chrome rims and body colored bumpers and grill?

could prolly put in coil spacers to raise the front like 1 1/2 or 2"......4x2 is a lil cheaper on insurance and the package your thinkin of is the Sport package, but i'm pretty sure it's no longer offered but i could be wrong
so only lifting the front will make it the same height as the 4wd? Are the 20" rims on the 2wd the same width as the 20s on the 4wd? I was thinking of getting a used one anyway. I like the 02-05s better than the new ones.
Yea, you can put an in-expensive level kit in either the '02-'05 or the '06/'07 models. The "stance" is pretty much an issue of backspacing on your wheels. Find you a nice truck you like and get a nice set of aftermarket wheels with a little backspacing and it will have that wider "4x4" type stance you want.
I have no front view pics of when I had stock wheels, but here is one showing a good, aggressive stance after adding 17x9 wheels with 4.5" backspacing:
