It has stopped working ever since the winter i dont know why but i'm assuming its all gunked up and i've tired lock de icer( this was still in the winter) and most recently wd-40 and other junk you can pick up and ur local crappy tire i mean canadian tire. anyways i still cant even get the key all the way in. i'm at the point of just getting it replaced but i want to make sure there isn't some trick that i've over looked

RE: seized tailgate lock
i did u the little red tube with the wd 40, the problem is that it thinks its got all kinds of dust and dirt in it jamming it all up. i did not try graphite i didn't think it would work because of all the gunk in the lock. normally i just soak my rusted up parts in wd 40 and it gets the job done but i dont know how to 'attack' this issue i guess i'll just keep spraying the darn thing hoping it'll free itself up

RE: seized tailgate lock
i deal with locks on a daily basis on trailers that come in off the road. once the salt gets to them and they stick. most of the time they are not coming undone. we call in someone to cut them off because we use locks that are almost imposible to cut withought a torche. i would try drilling out the lock very carefuly with a metal bit. you can then trun the lock internaly with a screw driver of something. i had to do this to get into my storage unit when i lost my keys. it worked on a shackle lock so im sure itll work for your tailgate lock.
