Dont go with the 6.1 cam, there are so many better cams out there than that one. Tuning should be a little better to. Thing to remeber though is you need to choose your cam based on what you need it for. HP/TQ numbers are great but where you get those numbers and what part of the power band you get them in are what you really need to be looking at. The 273 is a top end cam and really shines above the 6000rpm mark and to really be able to use it yoou need a high stall coverter (3400+), gears, and a few other mods to get it to actually run right. And yes if you are replacing the cam with something better you need the new springs and rods. Almost all the cams out need the upgrade so you dont grenade your engine
