When I run my truck down all the way to "E" - low fuel light, and then refill, I can only get 22 gallons in before the pump clicks off.

Is the extra 4 gallons on top? (Can top off with another 4)

Or is the extra 4 gallons down low? (4 gallons below when low-fuel comes onempty.)

How hard is it to upgrade to the 34 gallon tank?

 

somethin must be wrong with yours then, cause the few times i've filled up when i was on "E" my truck has taken a good 26-27 gallons lol

I noticed that as well. I have the 34 gallon tank and I've never put over 28 in it, and that was with the gauge reading just over empty.

 

i've never done this.....but it's rumored that if you drive until you're out of gas, you may be able to fit the full 26 gallons in the tank

 

mine is exactly the same .. in my manual it says the reserve takn is 2.6 gallons( i like to know exactly how far i can on that light haha) so when my light come on my distance to empty says around 20 .. when that says 0 there is really 2.6 gallons left in the tank so i can easily go another 30-40 miles .. ive pushed it many times haha

 

your light will come on when theres still gas left in the tank..... its kinda considered an "idiot" feature for those who think they can push it til the last mile, but the next gas station is like 15 miles away. Just that little extra to get you there.

 

I went 75 miles when the light came on and still didnt put 34 gallons in my truck. I think it was like 29 something.

 

I must be an idiot, I always put 24-25 gallons. Either that, or the gas station is jacking me for 2-3 gallons.
