Im only looking for people with the 4.7L V8 and the 20inch rims to respond.
Im about to possibly switch to the 3.92s, because i used to have the 17inch rims, but as of right now i have the 3.55s and im getting 15.4mpg(hand calculated and not with the overhead console).What gears are you running and what is your mileage?

i have an 05 with 20's highway 70 overhead will read around 20 mpg. i am getting ready to add perfromance cams (212x krc performance) and i am adding 4.56 gears more for towing.

I have 3:92's in my truck as an added option, love em...tows just fine and I average 18-19 mpg in town and about 22-24 on the highway

 

My 06 TRX4 with 3.92's only gets around 13.5 mpg around town and 17 highway.

whats the difference in the 3:92's and stock gears? how can you tell if u bought it used? ive got 5 speed 04 ram quad cam with chrome stock 20's and bought it last week. so i dont know a whole lot about em. love the look and the price so i bought it. if im looking for off the line speed and decent gas mileage, which gears should i use? leave em stock? what are the stock gears?
