You didn't mention a dealer so I assume you are out of warranty. If you just out of your overall warranty don't forget that manufacturers often have a longer warranty on emissions systems, I think the government forces them to warranty emissions systems longer than the base warranty. If that is not an option then check your local autoparts stores to see if they will do a code scan for you for free,I know Advance Auto Parts will do this for you in hopes that you will spend your money with them fixing it. You will have them scan the truck and then note the code or codes (the codes are a letter and four numbers like P####). Write the codes down and then go to http://www.obd-codes.com and search for the code(s) meaning. This will just be the first step as you may get a somewhat cryptic code answer but it will at least point you in the direction of the source of the problem. Post back or search this site with what codes you get and I'm sure you will narrow it down. You could have vapor recovery, cylinder misfire, O2 sensor or other emissions specific codes. Once you fix the source of thethen the scanner can also clear the codes to see if you have fixed the problem.

Good luck
