some mantenance
I bought my truck with 16,000 miles on it. I now have 16,787. I want to check the lsd. It feels like a slight shudder in slow turns. My Dad thinks a service will cure it. Plus I don't think the dealer did one. So I'm going to service the diffs this weekend.
Can I use synthetic in the front axle? Today I bought the lsd additive for the rear. I asked the parts counter at dodge, but she looked at me like I was stupid. I guess I will go to auto parts store and get the oil. I read it calls for synthetic 75-140 for the rear, but regular 75-90 for the front. Do you guys use gaskets or just sealer on the covers?
Also the only thing I can find (in the owners manual) on the automatic trans and transfer case says to service at 60,000. Is that right? I thought it was 30,000.
Thanks, Nick

U can use just sealer, dont forget the additive if you have the LSD in the rear!

it's just a friction modifier for the clutches....i'd check and see what axle you have in the front, cause one says to use it and the other doesnt.....prolly be ok using it tho
I was under the impression that if you use Royal Purple that you do not need to add the friction modifier.

i wouldnt trust it....specially if still under warranty then deffinitly add the LSD modifier......if out of warranty well....spose at the freedom to do whatever ya want i guess lol...but i would add it either way
